The Republic of Equatorial Guinea first appointed an Ambassador to represent the country in Portugal in 2013. José Dougan Chubum, an aviation pilot, studied Law in Cuba. He was director of human resources at Amarak, Inc. in Equatorial Guinea. Later, he established an oil fuel business. In the same year he was appointed Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of East Timor, residing in Lisbon.

 

On 19 September 2014, Ambassador Murade Murargy received the credential letters from Ambassador Tito Mba Ada, nominating him as Head of the Permanent Mission of Equatorial Guinea to the CPLP.

 

In September 2016, the President of the Portuguese Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, received the credential letters from the new Ambassador of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea in Portugal, Tito Mba Ada.

 

Ambassador Tito Mba Ada is also a non-resident Ambassador of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea to Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau and East Timor.
